So, I have to admit that I'm curious now. If the expiring voucher were applied to a fully refundable Y ticket of equal price or just a bit more, the linear fare on the new ticket would show "issued in exchange for" and the voucher serial number and the add collect value, but no expiration date information. Unless that info is captured invisibly elsewhere in the PNR, if one later tried to reissue the new ticket yet again for the transportation actually desired (as opposed to an essentially random arbitray booking for 330 days out, presumably the optimal way to go in the short term), how would the old expiration data be evidenced? I can imagine that if one issued a Y ticket to preserve the voucher value and then tried for a full refund, there might be a full review of the transaction. But if it's just reissued later for transportation actually desired, it's hard for me to see how there could be a problem. Another way to look at it is, what's to lose if the voucher is expiring anyway?
