I'm confused by your question. Did you mean those who didn't qualify?
I guess I don't understand how if you weren't incented to fly during the 12 months that you DID have status, to what benefit is it to give you another 2 months?

All these points have already been covered, but since you asked me specifically, here you go...

Those who are still flying AS, but missed qualification have been in the past given a quick qualification or "challenge" option.

I would also guess that those who did requalify prefer not to have to compete for upgrades and exit rows with the "lame-duck" elites.
