I submitted the following via email to
[email protected] on Friday evening:
I am writing to request a Platinum elite status match on Continental for the coming year. I am currently Platinum elite on Northwest, but I would like to switch all of my business over to Continental since I am unhappy with the changes at Northwest/Delta. My wife is an elite with Continental and very pleased with the product and program. I just created a new OnePass account, which I have listed below. All Continental and Northwest account details are below and a copy of my annual activity from Northwest as well as a copy of my Northwest Platinum card are attached.
This morning I received the following reply:
Welcome to OnePass Elite. We have upgraded your OnePass account to Platinum Elite status. Your Elite benefits and privileges are effective immediately and will be valid through February 28, 2010. Please allow 3-4 weeks for your Platinum credentials to arrive.
Thank you all once again for your guidance on this!
I only had 33k EQMs on NW this past year (NW soft-landed me to Gold), but that's because I was burning 600,000 NW miles in 2008 before they became SkyPiles. I already have trips to IAH, PTY, and DEL booked on CO in the next month (booked them right after I made a new CO account before the status match). For the IAH trip, would I need to call and have them update my reservation so that I'm in the queue for an upgrade, or will it automatically pull my new status in? (I searched, but didn't find an answer for this.) For the PTY and DEL itins, we already have priority seating due to my wife's status, but I don't know if it shows me as a Plat on those in the event an op-up is possible or if there are irregular ops.
Thanks again! Can't wait to fly CO even more this coming year.
peace,
~Ben~
