I've not been there, but San Diego is also on my family's "to do" list (kids 3 and 6).
Another thing that was a big hit with our kids this past spring was an air show. If your daughter would be interested, you can find a calendar with air shows all over the country between spring and fall, and plan to visit one that's also near some other attraction to fill out the week.
