Has anybody here lost status and been tempted to make a jump in the new year?

I've heard lots of grief before in the NW forum about this specific problem... elite inflation. Having the membership expire in Feb inflates the ranks of elites 2 extra months- but the positives are few indeed, mostly hurting those who continue to travel frequently. Thus, I would hope that AS would keep the current 12/31 termination.
