My guess is the airplane coming in from LAS-LAX has to stay the night and they took another airplane to SFO.

The dozen "preboarder" must have been the "through" passenger that had to get off and do an unschedule aircraft change.

They didn't cancel the flight so it must have been an aircraft placement.

It seems the #336 LAS-LAX landed at gate 25 and the LAX-SFO portion is departing at gate 2.
