When I needed two rooms in the past I would book one in my name and one in my wife's name. Since we have a mutual account (same account number for husband and wife), we would receive breakfast coupons for both rooms.

I have booked two rooms in my name only for my colleague, and he also received breakfast coupon (no status) as well. I think it depends on the hotel, especially with recent changes to the benefits. YMMV
