I have stayed there many times. As mentioned in the previous threads, it's an old hotel, which is remodelled last year. The location is not bad either. Still it's not as nice as the newer hotels.
you should also consider Westin, quite new, and the only Starwood property in Guangzhou. I was there last month, paid $110++ for the lowest category room
It is true the Westin is a nice property but during Canton Fair they charge $ 365++ almost what Shangri-la, which is next to the exhibition center is charging. while I got a special rate at the marriott for $ 105++ during the Canton Fair. Quite cheap rate.
