I don't understand.
Why didn't u just talk to the Hotel Manager on the same day and get this sorted out.
Also, as one of the poster said earlier, you should have told the Hotel Manager what happened. Not telling your side of the story surely hurt your prospects of getting a reasonable compensation as well as points for the last day of your stay.
