I'm sorry you had such a tramatic experince. Just what happend? I've had many "interesting" experinces over the years in traveling (espeically internationally) so I dout I will be shoked.

What I can tell you from experiance is that your passive behavior will get you nowhere is such a situation. I agree that nice is usually a good approach to start with. However, there are times you have to step it up and show no fear or emtion to deal with the situation. Sometimes you even have to get almost down right rude in certain parts of the world...and Italy is certainly one of those countires.

Not saying it's right, but it's the way it works in many parts of the world.

Just why would you not tell manager what happend if it was that bad? And then walk out without verifying the points credit? Again, strikes me as very passive behavior. Not gonna work in Italy and many countries in world.

Again, I'm sorry for such a bad experince. However, you have to adapt when you travel.
