Other than that, I think your essay is spot on. The change in policy is disappointing. The WAY the policy change has been handled and communicated is offensive.

As for the ridiculous comment about NW flyers, I've noticed they seem to be the kind of frequent fliers who truly care about the airline they choose to do business with. It seems they had a hidden gem over there. I welcome them to our (dwindling?) ranks.
