This year is actually going to be the watershed year for me for several reasons. I've been a loyal DL flyer for awhile (200,000 BIS miles) and a GM for the past 3 years. Since I moved to DEN I've looked off and on at *A carriers (but can't deal with UA), but have stayed loyal. Sadly these "enhancements" are starting to sway my loyalty. I chose not to make the MR for the 2,000 miles I needed to make PM because the writing seemed to be on the wall that the program was going to suffer with this merger. I already got rid of my DL AMEX after their "enhancement."
That being said, the "enhancements" are the primary reason I'm going to be watching DL so closely. If they feed us a load of bull then I really have no reason to stay with DL. Of course there is a chance I'll be moving from DEN to LUX, so in that case I can happily say good-bye to DL and move to LH. If I stay in the states I've considered flying Skyteam and Oneworld carriers and crediting to Alaska Airlines.
All carriers are devaluing their miles to an extent, but the OP is right, this latest move is a smack in the face to the best customers.
