You are absolutely correct I am sure. I just think that it is almost inexcusable that if you are in person at the DMV or DOL that you cannot get same day service in 2009. I most recently saw this is DC, one of the most dysfunctional Districts/states/whatever you want to call it, and they have their system wired. It takes minutes to get a new license; unless there is only one printer popping cards out then it might take a few hours. My most recent license is from Florida and even when i ordered my license through their internet portal, it arrived in two days. I had thought that my last CA license was same day, but perhaps immigration issues have finally caught up to them and this is some sort of protest or something.
