As relayed by my parents who were on the SLC-BZN flight last Sunday.
When they get to the Bozeman area the pilot announces that there is some debris on the runway and they have to circle until it is clear. After about 30 minutes of circling in the airspace west of the airport they start to head further west. As they head over the Continental Divide the landing dings sound. The FA comes on and says "Landing is imminent" in the end of the world tone of voice. When they finally touch down in Butte the FA says "It is SkyWest's pleasure to welcome you to Bozeman." At that moment the entire plane shouts "This is BUTTE!." To which the FA replies "Oh, I'm sorry my paperwork said I was supposed to fly to Bozeman." Apparently the two driving never told anyone they had changed destinations.
Anyway, they stayed on the tarmac in Butte for about an hour while the runway in Bozeman was cleared. They eventually make it to Bozeman a little over an hour late. Not too bad, and definitely better than when SkyWest diverts the SLC-BZN flights to Great Falls and then just charters a bus....
