LA operated flights usually post after two days. in general it takes a few days longer for posting miles of airlines not belonging to a specific FF-program (i believe this is nothing LAN specific).
BTW, regarding LA i had an excellent agent on the phone. one segment SYD-AKL on LA did not post within 7 days. i called gave them my ticket number and within two minutes the missing kilometers showed up on my account. (no mailing of BP, etc. necessary)

when you plan to fly on LA more often during your OW emerald status you should collect the kilometers on LA (because of the complimentary upgrades - but be aware that you are only upgraded when your fare meets a minimum fare amount.)

btw, are you sure you will collect more than 90.000 STATUS kilometers on your DONE4?
afaik the 100% milage bonus for AA and LA flights doesnot count as status kilometers (so on a trip SCL-IPC you will get 3759 km + 940km class bonus = 4699 status kilometers + 4699 bonus kilometers (100% elite bonus).
