On making his first ever mileage redemption this month, my husband was issued a non connecting flight from Asia-LAX-SAN. He asked for the connecting flight on the day arrived, and pointed out the international date line. Regardless, the agent booked the following day, thinking she had the connecting flight. On calling back, the agent insisted she was in the right. However, in a few hours she called back, having listened to the tape, and acknowledged indeed he had asked for the LAX-SAN flight on the prior day. She made the correction to the flight without charging the 20pd change fee.
