have a VS account with a jolly good 2000 miles! No SQ account.

I quite fancy trying out VS UC. And the 22k miles I will be left with after a UC redemption to HK will maybe let me book Y to JFK for my Sister when they have a redemption sale on?

What is the cost to upgrade to UC with miles and can you do it from a cheapy PE fare or does it have to be full fare?
