Just returned from a trip YYZ to CDG with the new lie flat seats, but we were on the 767. We had booked 3A & 4A, the agent at the airport suggested we'd be more comfortable and moved us to row 2 seats F & K. This turned out to be a much better choice. I think the same will be true on the 777-300
None of the new seats on these planes have side by side seating, but across the aisle is the best choice. You won't really be able to speak but you will be able to see each other.
