I'm afraid the rate is only valid for date reserved, rate cannot be held over until next day. The rate changes as soon as the next day starts, yes Hertz say call if delayed so we know you are not just a 'no-show'.
So you won't be able to 'beat the system' on this.
I know from experience that people who have tried to beat the system and have been caught end up getting charged the full 'rack' rate.
