I have stayed there many times. As mentioned in the previous threads, it's an old hotel, which is remodelled last year. The location is not bad either. Still it's not as nice as the newer hotels.

Besides Ritz and Hyatt (both are nice), you should also consider Westin, quite new, and the only Starwood property in Guangzhou. I was there last month, paid $110++ for the lowest category room, and got upgraded to a huge executive suite(one of the larger suites I have stayed in), very nice. It's also located in the new Tianhe business area, next to the train station with express service to Hong Kong.
