That what should happen HOWEVER I have been successful in getting both nights, stay credit and airline miles on a number of ocasions by the separate booking of rooms.
And that is also one on the reasons I delliberately do not put both rooms on one reservation.

Its very rare that one is able to get the front desk to combine two folios.
Most of time they havent got clue how to do it and even if they make an attempt it often doesnt work, consequently I no longer try, I just wait till one room posts and then call into HH about the missing one.


About 30% of the times I call in the CSR will just post the second room as a completely separate stay ... and bingo

So why bother ... if there is chance you might luck out.
In may way of thinking it makes up for the unnecessary hassle of having to work to get your due points.
