Passengers on fully flexible tickets in Club class are able to allocate seats in advance, as well as Silver/Gold members in the BA Executive Club (inc oneworld equiv).

All other passengers have the full choice of remaining seats (inc exit seats) at T-24 at on line check in. If you choose to check in at the airport, then the choice of seats may be limited.
