I am looking into this. I am not aware of any mandate by Marriott corporate to close lounges. However, it could be that the ownership companies for these hotels are making certain cost saving mandates. This could also be why the hotel associates have said, “corporate.” This is not my final answer just a possibility as I see things from where I stand. I will do some more digging and give a more concrete answer when I have one.
