I'm in FRA and was to pick someone up off of UA940 today (Tuesday Germany Time). I got a call from my co-worker at the gate in ORD, asking me if he should Volunteer and take a bump off 940, and would have to overnight in ORD. They offered him around $700 each in UA cash, for him and his wife and biz class on UA 944 on Tuesday. They took the deal, at this point the flight was a bit delayed posted on the monitor was a message asking for volunteers.

I just got off the phone with him sitting in the RCC in ORD, and he was clueless as to the fate of UA 940 last night. He looked up at the monitors a could see UA940 sch'ed 648pm-1 est 400pm. He will depart before the flight he took a Voluntarily bump on by 2 hours, will be in Biz class and has over $1400 in his pocket (in UA money).. Sorry to the people still stuck.. but this time taking a bump sure did pay off..
