I never book two rooms on one reservation, in fact I rarely ever book one room for more than two nights even on a planned longer stay, unless its some type of award like a AXON .....since it gives me the flexiblity of modifying my trip without having to redo the whole booking.

Its much easier to cancel the room you dont need while maintaining the rate of the other. In addition I do not agree that putting the two rooms on one reservation increases your chance of an upgrade.

My experience is that most properties seem to treat each reservation as a seperate entity, its as if they are not even aware of the other booking.During 2008 I made. nine two room bookings (five in the UK and four in France) and all were given the same upgrade and believe it or not all rooms were given platinum amenities (with the exception of the Paddington) and lounge access for all properties with lounges
