So I flew UA for first time yesterday since end of 2006 when I was 1P, and got seating 4 for my 2nd last row on a 757 and also seating 4 for my 2nd row in EMB-120. I thought if you are all the way in the back, shouldnt you get seating 2 or 3 vs 4?

How does the system determine who gets 2 or 3 or 4?
