This is incorrect, STPC applies to anyone with a connection time of more than 6 hours where the 6 hour connection was not voulantary. It doesn't have to be overnight.
The OP arrives in from SEA and is taking the very next BA flight to SIN, where the connection is more than 6 hours, the OP is therefore entitled to STPC if the booking class allows.
