NZ LHR-LAX-AKL would be better, or even better still LHR-HKG-AKL.

Issues with via NRT
- NZ has 767 NRT-AKL for a while this year = old business class
- change of terminals required at NRT
- NZ uses JL Sakura lounge, which is not good

Issues with via SFO
- NZ uses UA RCC, which is rubbish

Issues with via LAX
- compulsory immigration and long queues to get back through security

Issues with via HKG
- lounge is not as good as NZ lounge in LAX
