So the FOP is still the same if I want to retain the JGC crystal or sapphire status as to the normal crystal and sapphire status?

btw, turns out to be JGC is not free, they will deduct 5000 miles off the account if you do not pass their minimum requirement of 25000 FOP.

Membership validity is until the end of March following 2 years after member achieves JGC qualifications. From then on, validity is subject to annual renewal.

Yes, it's not free if you don't hold one of the qualifying JALCards and don't meet the min requirement. But they give you 3000 bonus miles for your first flight. So you only end up only paying 2000 miles. IMO I think it worths the fee since this will let you keep your elite status, especially if you think you can't meet the min 25000 FOP requirements.
