The best was Pan Am. I remember flying them to Honolulu as a teenager. They had announcements in English and Japanese for a domestic flight. Furthermore, the purser bowed every time a Japanese passenger boarded or disembarked. Amazing.
It was a requirement on Pan Am that all FA's were bilingual. And yet I flew from Tokyo to Honolulu on Pan Am and not a single FA could speak Japanese. It was rather funny since I was about the only english speaking passenger on board. I heard alot of "You like to drinky milky".
