I am flying SYD-AYQ-PER (ie Sydney to Perth via Ayers Rock). I arrive into AYQ at 11:45, and depart at 13:30.

Assuming an on-time or slightly early arrival, is is possible to quickly duck over to the rock and back?

By road my GPS tells me it is 26km, and about 32mins. Say I manage to be out of AYQ at 11:55, need to be back at 1:10, that means it should be doable.

BUT - from perusing my Australia Lonely Planet, it appears there are no taxis in AYQ?

Any suggestions?
