It depends on the program. CO earns 2 qualification points (30 for silver eliter) for Y and H fares. UA awards 1.5 segments for y-fares (again, 30 for silver). However, neight NW Worldperks nor Continental OnePass award count flight segments flown on Delta toward earning status.

AirFrance counts 1:1, but only 15 segments for Silver and 30 for Gold - since upgrades at silver are so rare anyway, it might be worth it for someone who flys 30 segs a year to credit there just to get to silver elite earlier in the year and make AF Gold for the limitted free lounge access.
