No - it is a fundamental feature of HHAs. You get the benefit of pooling miles which is a boon for some. There is no such thing as a free lunch, and fair enough...the 'cost' for this is you can only use the pooled miles for HHA members. To disable it, disband the HHA or have the person who needs to make the redemption for a non-HHA member move out of the account...but beware that according to the rules you can only make the change once every 6 months.
