There's no need for a ban on babies in First, just as there's not a need for a ban on any other person in First.

If a baby cries, there can be something wrong. On previous flights, I found it unbelievable that parents don't know that babies cry on ascent/descent because of the pressure changes causing pain - pressure changes that other travellers know about and correct through yawning / swallowing etc. I wouldn't have a problem with a baby crying for a time on a flight regardless of cabin.

Although moving off-topic slightly, I normally find it's very undisciplined children who cause me most aggravation. Then, I do believe it is definitely in the hands of the parents as to how they behave. If there were unruly kids causing trouble on my flight I would complain to either the parents or the staff, and if things did not change I would expect the airline to be somewhat responsible - if we are meant to obey cabin crew commands then this must apply to children / parents of children?

Let's contrast to a fine restaurant - if you go to TGI Friday's and there are kids running around and noise you accept it no problem. If you go to say, Gordon Ramsay's on an evening and are there for an anniversary and kids were running around in the same way would it be acceptable to either you or the restaurant? I'm sure at GR's the parents would be made to make the kids behave. Why does being on a flight permit the parents to allow their kids to do whatever they want in this situation?
