Actually, I think the low fares from ATL-PIT are here to stay, unless AirTran gets knocked out of the routes. A latest check of 'spot' fares ATL-PIT shows like $308 R/T. That's about a third of what it was 18 months ago.

MYR-ATL used to be a gold mine for US & DL before AirTran, without a Sat stay, it was Y fare all the way at around $950-$1000 regardless of advance. Now with AirTran in the game since mid-2000, I can still get a "B" class fare (3 day adv, NO Sat Stay) for $279.50.

And I know US will never just pull out of MYR, so I don't feel bad about giving some business to AirTran, especially if there is significant difference in cost. DL I could care less about, as it's not big DL, only ASA, probably the least reliable airline in aviation history.
