There's a very good reason why they won't ditch the toll-free numbers. If you own one of these, you get a ton more information about your caller(s) than you do via an ordinary (non-WATS) number, due to automatic number identification (ANI). Even if you attempt to *67 your call, calling an 800 line still reveals your TN.
