Isn't that a bit of a sweeping statement?

I was on an Emirates flight that diverted to Tehran (of all places) due to a medial emergency. Yes it was unfortunate, but I can't believe that anyone, passengers or crew would take the chance of risking someone's life over a diversion and subsequent inconvienience and cost.
