I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel in October and I thought the place was terrible. Concierge was worthless, check-in was slow, and the rooms had paper thin walls. The bell staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, the location of the hotel is weak. I would not recommend staying in this hotel.
I was in Japan for 5 months so I have plenty of other hotels to compare it to. The best (i.e. my favorite) Starwood hotel I stayed in was the Sapporo Sheraton. It was a very clean hotel and the staff was tremendous.
