It might be a dream, but if DL offered 2 real SWUs at 100k MQM and another 2 every 40k miles or so (similar to NW EEPs), I think many PMs would fly more on DL after 75k, and possibly some UA and AA 100k+ fliers (like you) may even choose to take DL. I think that DL needs to do something to compete with UA 1k and AA ExP benefits which are better for 100k+ fliers.
I'm ending 2009 with 167,043 MQMs -- except for a few hotel miles, they're basically ALL BIS miles -- no AmEx. Why did I go past 75K on DL and not switch? Because I fly domestically every week, get upgraded 99% of the time, am treated well, have good schedules from my hometown, and have rarely had good experiences with the other carriers out of FLL. Why not continue to fly DL? I earn plenty of miles and burn them just as fast. Works for me.
But I digress from the OP -- in answer to that, I agree -- get on a plane in the next 24 hours or forget it. Sorry -- but that's the way it works, and that's the way it should work.
