The thread I referred to appears to have come from agents at Las Vegas. There is a lot of bad blood with the UA pilots over havng to take the US guys and give them full seniority in the proposed merger. Evidentally, US doesn't want to make that situation any more volatile by hiring additional pilots, and thus sending over even more.
