I was booked on 3/31 from PVD-PHL at 11am...flight cancelled due to no crew (A319). The 3pm flight...cancelled due to no crew (A319). Ended up getting a ride up to ORH for a Dash-8 flight into PHL instead of sitting around PVD until 5pm.

A random check of flights on their web site showed quite a few cancellations that day. Most if not all were 319s.

My friend who's an agent at US told me that they are indeed short staffed, and since much of the crew have already made their hours for the month before the 31st they get a lot of sick calls. Plus if no one's taking overtime it only gets worse.

With 66 A319s in the fleet now we can only hope they get full staff soon.
