If you're a US citizen, you'll need an expensive visa in Moscow and Rio, if you don't already have them. I booked Moscow on a Mini-Jumbo fare a few years back. I learned the hard way, that the visa cost me as much as the plane ticket.

I'd pick Krakow or Istanbul myself, both places I haven't been yet, but seem interesting.
