70's era tubular pneumatic headsets on new planes???

Every once in a while I still see something unexpected. Just the other day flying CGK-CAN on a CZ A319, low and behold, a sight I do not recall personally seeing for almost 20 years. A flight attendant handing out old school 70's era tubular pneumatic headsets. You know, the kind that look like a stethoscope where you plug the two little plastic tubes into the armrest. But stranger still, this was not some 30 year old aircraft. It didn't have that new plane smell but it was a nice, clean, very newish A319 that seemed like it couldn't have been more than 3-4 years old at the most. Everything else about the cabin was very modern. The old school tubular pneumatic head phones served the audio for otherwise typical modern overhead mounted flip down LCD flat screens. Weird. They worked well enough though.

Are any other airlines still flying this high tech IFE? Does anyone make adapters for Boise noise canceling headsets?
