I'm not sure where to start .... I must admit I had to look up "3K" to find it's Jetstar Asia.
A few questions -
1. You're 'passing through' Asia without spending much time there, and Singapore in both directions, so presumably you don't have much interest in Asia? You could also go via HKG or BKK, depending on airline/destination. If you connect via SIN, there should be no need to overnight (in either direction if you're going to/from say MEL or SYD) as the flights are designed to 'connect' in SIN. I would try and go SIN in one direction and HKG in the other and spend a couple of days in each but maybe you've already done that and/or are not interested in Asia?
2. If you're going snorkeling/scuba diving, why Proserpine? Are you an experienced scuba diver? I'm not but others no doubt are so if you're an experienced diver, perhaps others can suggest the best places to go. Most (first time) visitors focus on the Cairns/Palm Cove/Port Douglas area for their beach/snorkelling/scuba diving.
3. PPP to CNS is a 600+km drive and would take a day. Not sure I would want to do that but YMMV.
3. Jetstar flies BNE-PPP and CNS-SIN (with a stop in Darwin). 3K does not fly either of those routes (as far as I can see). Is flying 3K important? Do you want to earn miles for all these flights in some FF program?
4. Not sure why you want to stay in Cairns if you've already been further down the coast for several days. Connections from/to Cairns/Asia are not the best and would probably be easier out of SYD (or MEL) if you can re-arrange the sequence. Maybe BCN-LHR-HKG-CNS-MEL-HBA-SYD-SIN-LHR-BCN? What sort of ticket is this going to be? Just a series of one-way tickets (expensive) or a RTW product on one of the alliances (oneworld presumably given the IB and QF flights)?
A few answers for all your questions!!!
1. The idea of the trip is to focus in Australia, so not very interested in staying in Asia. We are thinking about the overnight stays in SIN as for getting over the jetlag in our way to MEL, and for doing some cheap shopping on our way back, but no other dark intentions there!
2. Not an experienced scuba diver, but I really enjoy snorkeling. I've been suggested to visit the whitesundays, so PPP looks like a good location to land.
3 and 4. Flights with 3K are codeshared with QF. And we're getting a discount price on QF (buy full fare on intercontinental flights and getting 40% off on the internal flights in Australia). Also the overnight stays in SIN are not considered as two separate flights in both ways. Everything will go to oneworld, of course!!!!
