I am also interested in Erickas' reply and others who contact GM's in advance.
Personally, I find that GMs of luxury hotels usually give me their email address and usually ask that I contact them if I plan a return visit.
Ericka made reference to a couple of amans, I would always email a GM at an amanresort in advance. I would not do it to get an upgrade, Im usually happy with any suite in an aman. What I fnd that I get is absolute up to date knowledge of what activities are available and any new amenities at the resort.
Liv is still manager at Dari during the upgrading.
Also, if its a new manager, they should be aware that you have been there before (perhaps many times at some amanresorts).
