Combining an old MP account with my current one?

I realized that I used to fly UA PDX-EUG and SEA-EUG years ago to visit family on a semi-regular basis, but when I began flying as an adult, I didn't use this mileage plus account. Just looked up the old account on United.com and it has 0 RDMs but 17,410 lifetime UA flight miles.

Is there any way to request that my two accounts be combined so my overall UA lifetime flight miles are reflected on the combined account? Has anyone tried something like that?

Keep in mind that there are 0 miles in my old account, so I'm not trying to pool miles.

I won't need to do this until I get a purge data print from my old account (so I can updated my Flight Memory ), but expect that I'll need to do it later this year.
