I have no idea how many people actually fly mileage runs but considering they have an entire forum for it I assume it must be substantial.
Some FT members regard the FT community as a place where members give and take valued information to/from each other. Other members regard it as a place to take only.

The cost of just the upgrades on the 85k miles assuming 500 per would be $5100 without even figuring the tickets themselves.
So they give you $120 in upgrades 2% of the cost of my upgrades alone--who cares.
Factor in another 30k for the tickets themselves and it it 3/10 of one percent.
Such a benevolent promotion--I wonder why they even bother?
There is another promotion that would have gotten you 100% free upgrades. While normally, it would have required you to fly an additional 25,000 miles, due to this special promotion AA would give you 40% of those miles, only requiring you to fly an added 15,000 miles. It wasn't worth it to you.

Promotions are designed to get passengers to fly more with AA. You seem unwilling to fly more with AA, and have your undies in a knot because AA is not designing promos to incent passengers to do nothing different, which would be pretty stupid of AA to do. As Forrest's mama used to say, "Stupid is as stupid does", so I guess you can go on hoping for that, but I wouldn't get too excited if nothing happens.

Actually, for flying the 25,000 miles above the Platinum level, AA will give you 10 stickers plus these 4, or 14 stickers. They also have given you 50,000 redeemable miles, have let you use First Class check-in and elite security lines, have let you board early on every flight, have given you upgrade priority, and have let you use any Oneworld lounge free when flying internationally (except Canada, most of Mexico, and the Caribbean) on a Oneworld flight.
