I was actually in a hotel in Orlando where the rate was $159. The card in the room indicated a max rate of $149. They were not happy the following morning when I asked for my $10 back as I checked out.

The other time that rate gets used is on the Diamond Force for a revenue stay. I had a run last November/December where I had three consecutive bookings that required the force. Fortunately the rates were all reasonable, but they could've tried to fleece me if they wanted. I just would've stayed elsewhere.
