Very excited, traveling on Christmas day this year. It will be my first time in WBC, thank you NWA! This is the best Christmas gift!
was upgraded a few days out for the domestic leg, checked in 24 hours out, just checked my nwa account a few moments ago, there it is, DTW-NRT seat is changed from an exit row to a WBC seat, booked in C class.
Questions:
1) what kind of drinks are good on WBC? What should I try?
2) with this, do I get to go to worldclub in DTW and NRT?
3) do I get to take extra luggage? 70 lb per bag?
seemed like all the good seats are taken, chose a window on the upper deck.
will be continuing to PVG, will watch that one.
1) NW has a basic selection of most spirits as well as usually one featured red and white wine on each flight. NW has not yet adopted Delta's specialty cocktails, so anything you order would need to be made with available items on-board (e.g. gin & tonic (my fav.), scotch & soda, etc.). When traveling to/from/through Tokyo, I enjoy an Asahi beer.
2) Yes, you will be granted access to the WorldClubs en route. Just be sure to show them your boarding pass as it will identify you as a World Business Class customer.
3) According to the
checked baggage page on nwa.com, you will be allowed two free bags, each up to 70 lbs. for your upgraded segment(s). Beware that if your return journey is in coach, you will not have the same baggage allowance.
As for your seat, I think you actually got a very nice one. The seats themselves are the same on the upper and lower decks. Thus, the upper deck is preferred by many because of its seclusion and relative privacy. It's my favorite area on the 747. I think you will enjoy it.
A helpful section is available on nwa.com about traveling in World Business Class. It will give you some insight on seating, meals, entertainment, etc.
