Completely disagree - it's great for anyone booking a flight late. I regularly will book 3-4 days out for transatlantic flights in Y, or other 752 flights and it's great to still have a good choice of seats - unlike on most other a/c types that CO operates.
Agree fully I book FL flights 90% of the time normally 1-2 weeks out at a max and the blocked seats rock
It ensures I get a non middle seat MOST of the time or exit row.
